If you are a residential customer and meet the requirements listed below then you may be eligible for a discount on your monthly electric bill. This will save you money and will not affect the service you currently receive. On October 1, 2016, National Grid implemented new distribution charges approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. After October 1, 2016, the newly approved Residential Low-Income Rate R-2 tariff discount has changed. Eligible customers will now receive a credit based on 29 percent of the total charges reflected on their bill. To apply, please complete this Eligibility Criteria for the Discount (R-2) Rate (pdf) document, including a program ID card or agency acceptance letter, and return to National Grid or call us at 1-800-322-3223.
